Nicaragua - Cherry Microlot coffee beans

10,40

This complex Arabica coffee "Cherry microlot" is the result of high altitude and a cool climate, leading to denser and sweeter beans.

Description

Jose Francisco and Emma are now expanding their farm and increasing the area under coffee cultivation, which only became possible after Gold Mountain Coffee Growers helped them break out of a predatory cycle of debt. Jose Francisco works hard in the fields, while Emma looks after their finances and the low wages for the workers.

Their 'cherry microlot' grains ripen more slowly due to the high altitude and cool climate, allowing the grains to absorb more nutrients. The result is more complex aromas in the cup (including a distinct cherry smell) and denser, sweeter beans. The newly acquired part of their farm is planted with coriander, carrots and other vegetables to supplement their income.

To get the most out of arabica coffee, we recommend you take it in the bean!
